FAQ's for Retirement Living

Do you have secure storage for caravans/boats? Yes, however spaces are limited and would depend on the site of interest

Do monthly fees include Rates? Yes, both Council & Water rates are included

Who looks after the gardens? In most villages there are full time maintenance personnel on staff. Residents who are fit and keen gardeners can tend their own garden if they wish.

Who’s responsible for maintenance of appliances? Part of the monthly General Service Charge goes into a Maintenance Reserve Fund for repairs & maintenance of appliances and other items.

What if an appliance has to be replaced, who pays? SCC pay for the replacement of Capital Items, like Hot Water Service, Ovens etc.

Do you allow pets in villages? No. Accomodation tends not to be individually fenced therefore control of pets would be an issue

Is there a 24hr Emergency Call service in place? Yes.

Do you provide services like meals, cleaning, etc? Not in every village. However, there are numerous local providers of community services including Southern Cross Care (Qld) for help with meals, cleaning, shopping, etc.

Does the village have a bus? Yes, many do. Often the estate bus takes residents shopping locally and also to other trips and outings.

Are you allowed to have visitors stay? Yes. Visitors can stay for up to 4 weeks without prior approval. All we ask is that, for security reasons, you advise the manager if you have guests staying overnight.

Are visitors allowed to swim in the pool or play billiards? Yes. Guests can use the facilities in the estate as long as they are accompanied by a resident.

Can you get broadband? Yes. Most villages have independent telephone lines to units so residents can access broadband services.

Do you have a resident’s workshop? Yes. Many villages have a workshop facility where residents can potter (Residents must provide their own tools).

Are your villages 'Leased' or 'Licensed' for entry? Our estates each have different agreements. Caloundra Rise, Noosa Waters and Stretton Gardens each are Leased for entry. Southern Cross Edens Landing, Assisi Court and Kilkivan have a License for entry. You can learn about the difference here.
