National Volunteer Week is Australia’s largest annual celebration of volunteering and a week-long event which recognises the vital support that millions of volunteers in our country provide to their communities.
This year during National Volunteer week, we celebrated our volunteers across our various homes to show our appreciation and gratitude for the invaluable work they do at SCCQ.
In the Western Downs region we had our Carinya home in the town of Miles, our Illoura Village home in Chinchilla, and our Tarcoola home in Tara, each host an afternoon tea to thank their volunteers and acknowledge all the support they provide. Our St Mary’s home in Raceview also celebrated their volunteers with a morning tea event. SCCQ People & Mission Officer, Sonia Kovac, oversees the Volunteer Program and said it was the perfect opportunity to honour their dedication and commitment.
“We are so grateful for our volunteers at SCCQ who dedicate their time, energy and efforts to support the wellbeing of our residents and also support our workforce to deliver a range of important services to the people we serve,” said Sonia. From all at SCCQ, thank you to each of our volunteers who display our values of Service, Courage and Compassion each day at SCCQ and help us grow communities where best lives are lived.
