COVID-19 Update: Increased testing measures throughout the holiday period

Increased testing measures throughout the holiday period

Dear residents, families and staff,

We hope you’ve had a wonderful Christmas and had the opportunity to spend time with your loved ones. As we step into the new year, we want to thank you for your continued support in keeping our community safe and connected.

Recently, we have seen an increase in cases of acute respiratory infections (ARI) and COVID-19 outbreaks in the broader community. To help minimise the risk of transmission and reduce the risk of outbreaks within our homes, we are introducing Rapid Antigen Testing (RAT) requirements for all staff and visitors until the end of January, at which time we will further review the situation.

Testing Requirements:

  • All staff must complete a RAT before starting their shift.
  • Visitors will be required to undertake a RAT before entering the home, with test kits provided for convenience.
  • Anyone with symptoms of illness is kindly asked to delay their visit until fully recovered.

These measures are in place to safeguard the health and wellbeing of our residents, staff, and families. Your understanding and cooperation is greatly appreciated.

If you have any concerns or other enquiries concerning our COVID-19 safe approach, please contact us on 1800 899 300 or email outbreak.updates@sccqld.com.au.

Thank you for your ongoing support and understanding as we have worked through these challenging times together.
