SCCQ is fortunate to enjoy the support of many dedicated volunteers. If you’re interested in contributing to the scope and diversity of our volunteer workforce, making a tangible difference to the daily lives of older Queenslanders, we’d love to hear from you.
Volunteering will help you learn new skills, contribute to your community and take pride in being part of a team which offers quality, dignified care to residents, clients and their family and friends.
We often have a variety of volunteer roles across our settings and we endeavour to offer roles that match the interests and skills of our volunteers. Some common volunteer roles include:
- Lifestyle Assistant Volunteer – assists the Lifestyle team with activities such as carpet bowls, gentle exercise, theme days, bingo, gardening, etc.
- Pastoral Care Services Volunteer – assists the Pastoral Care team with delivering pastoral services to residents
- Companionship Volunteer – provides companionship and social support to residents and clients with one-on-one regular visits
