A culture of 'Known & Loved'

Our people are at the heart of fulfilling our mission to serve our community with dedication and a commitment to quality care. Our unique culture program ‘Known & Loved’ was created following feedback we sought from our people about what’s important to them.

It gives us the inspiration, knowledge and practical tools to create a culture and ethos where every person matters. It helps us build genuine community connections, with each other and those we serve.

We’re fostering a culture where everyone matters, and this starts with our commitment to our staff and volunteers; and everyone who contributes to our work.

Hear from our community

The thing I love most about working at Southern Cross Care is the person-centred care you get to provide. You’re coming into residents’ homes, not to work. Sitting with residents, spending time with them, helping the most vulnerable of our population is something that I really love being a part of.

Gurjot

Residential Manager

I enjoy making a difference, whether it be helping with everyday tasks, being a listening ear, giving a hug when needed, or putting a smile on someone’s face. I’ll continue enjoying my job and providing the best care for our many clients for years to come.

Nicola

Support Worker

One of my most memorable moments was being thanked by a family for supporting them through a difficult transition. Knowing my guidance helped ease that journey reminded me how meaningful our work truly is.

Ruwina

Administration Manager

I have been volunteering for 2 years and find it so rewarding – crafts, bingo, and sharing good times and happy memories with residents. It’s the highlight of my week.

Jen

Lifestyle Volunteer

I oversee everything that happens in the kitchen. We work closely with our residents, so they get a lot of input into the planning of our menu. Why do I do it? Because I love it.

Trish

Catering Manager

I joined SCC as a Registered Nurse and have now achieved my goal of becoming a Nurse Practitioner. The encouragement, leadership and support I’ve received at SCC made it possible to grow my career while continuing to provide quality care.
