More than 122,000 people in Australia don’t have a safe and secure place to live, including an increasing number of young people and older women.
Having a safe place to sleep at night is a basic human right and aligns to Southern Cross Care Queensland’s mission that values and respects human life, which is why Southern Cross Care Queensland CEO, Jason Eldering, will be leading a team in this year’s Vinnie’s CEO Sleepout on 22 June.
The team will be sleeping outside at Brisbane’s Riverstage to help raise awareness and much needed funds for those experiencing homelessness or at risk of finding themselves without a safe place to call home. They’ll also be joining business, government and community leaders across Australia in sleeping out.
Every dollar they raise will go to Vinnies’ services, which include food, accommodation, education, counselling, employment and health programs to ensure that Vinnies’ vital services can stay up and running – meeting the increasing demand due to COVID-19, job losses, sky-rocketing costs of living, along with other social and economic pressures keep homelessness on the rise.
We are calling on all who, like us, have the comfort of a roof over your head each night – to donate what you can to help us make a difference!
All donations are tax deductible and we would be so grateful if you could please dig deep and give what you can, every dollar helps.
Please help us raise $40,000 for emergency beds, food and support programs to help get vulnerable Queensland families off the streets and into safe homes today.
