Southern Cross Care Qld is a not-for-profit organisation established by the Knights of the Southern Cross, an Australia-wide organisation of Catholic laymen, inspired by Christian faith and charity.
Over 40 years ago, the Knights saw a need in the community to provide compassionate care and inclusive service to the most vulnerable in our community, the ageing population. After years of hardwork and perseverance, the doors to our first aged care facility, Archbishop Duhig Court, were opened at Holland Park in 1979.
Since opening our first hostel in 1979 there has been a great deal of change in the delivery of care services to the community. Southern Cross Care Qld has grown to employ over 1,000 staff who provide services for more than 2,000 people. Our network includes thirteen aged care facilities, five retirement villages, and home care services across Queensland.
We respect the lives and honour the unique stories of every resident, which guides everything we do.
Our values of Service, Courage, Compassion are what we hold most dear, they are the core beliefs that bind us together. To us, service means serving the greater good.
We support you so that you can live the life you want.
We collaborate with and take guidance from industry and community stakeholders so together we add value to the community and its members to best serve those who place their trust in us.
Join a supportive team making a difference for people and communities across Queensland.
