Annual Report for FY2021/22 now available

Southern Cross Care Queensland’s Annual Report for the last financial year is now available, following the assembly of members at the Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 23 November.

Chair Francis Price said, “Our staff demonstrate a genuine love for the dignity of people which is displayed through their actions each day.

“Through the hard work of many people, SCCQ continues to be a sustainable business with scalable systems, safe service provision and a solid financial footing, enabling us to guide the stewardship of our organisation into the future.”

Key highlights for the FY21/22 year included:

  • Welcomed Western Downs Regional Council aged care services, including 350 clients and 84 staff to the SCCQ family.
  • Design phase complete for our first stage of our Chinchilla Aged Care redevelopment and expansion, with construction due to begin in 2023.
  • Signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Southern Queensland Rural Health as part of a regional partnership for sustainable aged care in our rural areas.
  • Customer Insights Program, now in its third year, included 2400 personal conversations with our residents, their families and clients to listen and understand their experiences. Our Net Promoter Score continues to show an increase in levels of resident and client satisfaction.
  • Rolled out our unique culture program, Known & Loved to over 700 staff, which is built on our values of Courage, Service and Compassion.
  • We have grown our residential aged care services from 93.8% to 94.3% and each of our homes achieved 100% compliance with the Aged Care Quality and Safety Standards.
  • SCCQ’s home care services increased by 25%, and Retirement living occupancy at 95% with sales exceeding expectations over the past 12 months.
  • Ongoing upgrades of people-centred systems across all SCCQ sites, leveraging technology to improve the experience of staff and residents.
