After years without a holiday, our Ipswich Home Care client Beverley has returned from a truly special getaway filled with joy, emotion and new memories.
Accompanied by her SCC support worker Karen, Beverley spent two nights at Sea World Resort, exploring Sea World theme park and the nearby shopping district. A passionate animal lover, Beverley had long dreamed of seeing dolphins up close, and when that moment finally came, it was unforgettable. Overcome with emotion, Beverley shed tears of happiness as she watched them, later returning to enjoy the dolphin show a second time.
Karen supported Beverley throughout the trip, ensuring she was comfortable, safe and able to fully enjoy the experience. From assisting with daily routines to navigating the park, Karen’s care made it possible for Beverley to relax and take in every moment. While at Sea World, Beverley also chose a few soft toy souvenirs from the gift shop to remember her visit. The pair made time for a separate shopping outing nearby, adding another enjoyable experience to their time away.
For Beverley, the holiday was a chance to experience something she had missed for many years, and it meant everything. Looking ahead, Beverley is already dreaming of her next journey. She would love to visit Maryborough, or return to Rockhampton where she was born, ideally by train, combining her love of travel with her sense of nostalgia.
