30 November 2022

We are pleased to present the FY23/24 Annual Report for Southern Cross Care Queensland (SCCQ), highlighting our projects, services, and financial performance for the year ended June 2024. This year, SCCQ has made significant strides in fulfilling our mission to “serve the greater good.” Aligned with our Vision, Mission, and Values, our work reflects a steadfast commitment to the well-being and dignity of those we serve.

SCCQ has continued to grow, evolve, and strengthen our services, achieving several key milestones:

  • Growth in Care Services: SCCQ provided over 1.2 million hours of compassionate, person-centred care to our aged care residents, home care clients, and retirement living communities. Occupancy rates remained robust, reaching 97.1% for aged care homes and 94.2% for retirement communities, surpassing industry standards.

  • Strategic Partnerships and Projects:
  • Illoura Village Redevelopment and Southern Queensland Rural Health Partnership: Our redevelopment of Illoura Village in Chinchilla continues to advance, with substantial progress on the new 81-bed home. This project is bolstered by our partnership with Southern Queensland Rural Health, who also celebrated the opening of their Education and Training Centre, strengthening our shared commitment to health and aged care excellence in the region.
  • Southern Cross Care Broken Hill Partnership: Our support for Southern Cross Care Broken Hill has led to significant operational improvements, enhancing care quality and ensuring sustainability for regional communities.

  • Innovative Cultural Program – Known & Loved: This year, we introduced the Leading Known & Loved model for leaders, enhancing their ability to create high-performing, compassionate teams that reflect SCCQ’s values.

  • Financial and Operational Stability: SCCQ maintained full compliance with Aged Care Quality Standards and achieved a strong financial position, reinforcing resilience and sustainable growth.

We invite you to explore this report as we continue to grow communities where best lives are lived.
