21 May 2025
As we approach National Reconciliation Week 2025, from 27 May to 3 June, we pause to reflect with heart, humility, and hope. This important week invites all Australians to walk side by side, honouring the truth of our shared history and embracing the opportunity to build a more just and inclusive future.
The theme for this year, Bridging Now to Next, reminds us of the deep connections between past, present and future. It calls on us to take compassionate steps forward, together, grounded in the lessons of the past and inspired by a vision of reconciliation that uplifts the voices, cultures, and rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
SCCQ has an ongoing commitment to reconciliation, and the development and endorsement of our Reflect RAP in January 2024 was just the beginning of this important journey. Our Reflect RAP, which continues until June 2025, has been a time of listening, learning, and laying the foundations for lasting change.
Looking ahead, we are moving into the next phase of our journey with the development of our Innovate RAP. This next step will guide us over the next two years, allowing us to explore how we, as a care organisation, can continue to play a meaningful role in advancing reconciliation – by building relationships, increasing cultural awareness, and fostering respect.
