On National Aged Care Employee Day, 7 August, Southern Cross Care proudly joined aged care providers across the country in recognising the remarkable people who make aged care possible. It was a day to pause and celebrate the dedication, compassion, and professionalism of our 1,800 staff who serve across our communities.
From nurses, personal care assistants, and allied health professionals, to volunteers, lifestyle teams, hospitality staff, maintenance, cleaning, administration, and management – every person plays a vital role in ensuring residents and clients live with dignity, comfort, and joy.
Our CEO, Jason Eldering, shared a heartfelt message of thanks with staff, acknowledging the extraordinary commitment shown every day, “No matter your role, you are essential to the heart of our Southern Cross Care communities.”
“Even during challenging times, you continue to show up with kindness, courage, and a deep commitment to supporting our residents, clients, and one another. That is something truly extraordinary.” Jason said.
As a small token of appreciation, all staff across our sites received a small gift and a specially designed Aged Care Employee Day badge to wear with pride. Many gathered together to celebrate, share in gratitude, and reflect on the important work they do.
While this national day was a moment to shine a spotlight on our people, our gratitude extends well beyond 7 August. Every day, we are thankful for the compassion and commitment of our teams, who collectively bring our vision of growing communities where best lives are lived to life.
