Southern Cross Care (SCC) was pleased to welcome the Inspector General for Aged Care, Ms Natalie Siegel-Brown, to our Holland Park community recently. Her visit included a tour of the residential care home, retirement village and our new Wellness Centre, offering a close look at how our teams support residents and clients each day.
Following the tour, Ms Siegel-Brown joined several of our senior leaders for a roundtable discussion on the key issues shaping the aged care sector. The conversation focused on the lived experience within our communities, the importance of genuine partnership between providers and the regulator, and the need for practical, people-centred approaches to future reform.
CEO Jason Eldering said the visit was a welcome opportunity to share both the strengths of our community and the challenges affecting aged care providers across Australia. He also expressed appreciation for the open discussion and the Inspector General’s commitment to understanding the day-to-day realities of aged care.
SCC thanks Ms Siegel-Brown for taking the time to meet with our residents, clients and teams, and for her ongoing focus on transparency, accountability and sector improvement.
