Stretton Gardens Retirement Estate hosted its very first talent show, an absolute hit and aptly named Stretton’s Got Talent!
Over 90 residents filled the audience to cheer on 13 fantastic acts, showcasing a mix of singing, dancing, poetry, and even a duo known as “The Ladder Men.” Adding to the excitement, the Stretton Giggles, a band formed by the Retirement Village staff members, treated the crowd to a surprise performance.
The event brought the community together in true celebratory style. Local and state parliament members, along with our trusted contractors, generously donated prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, while a special Village Voice award was presented for the audience’s favourite act. Lucky door prizes added an extra element of fun for attendees.
Every performer went home with a custom stubby holder emblazoned with the show’s catchphrase “True Talent Never Retires”. The atmosphere of joy and camaraderie was infectious, with laughter, applause and much joy shared throughout the day.
The success of this inaugural event has already inspired some residents to start rehearsing for next year’s show, proving that at Stretton Gardens, creativity, confidence and community spirit truly shine, no matter your age.
