We are pleased to announce that from 13 June 2025, Southern Cross Care Broken Hill (SCCBH) has officially joined Southern Cross Care Queensland (SCCQ). This marks an important milestone in our journey as we extend our commitment to compassionate, person-centred aged care services beyond Queensland into regional New South Wales and Victoria.
Over the past year, SCCBH and SCCQ have worked closely under a Management Services Arrangement (MSA) with SCCQ offering operational, clinical, and governance support to help strengthen the delivery of care in the increasingly complex regional aged care environment.
With the shared goal of safeguarding aged care services in Broken Hill and after months of careful consideration, the Boards of both organisations have agreed that SCCQ is best placed to continue leading and strengthening these vital services into the future. A contract for the transfer of operations has now been signed, with settlement completed on 13 June 2025.
SCCQ is proudly grounded in a Catholic mission and guided by our founding values from the Knights of the Southern Cross. We have a long-standing commitment to providing compassionate care that values and respects all human life. Bringing these values to Broken Hill and Mildura, we will ensure continuity of care, preserve the Catholic identity, and strengthen the foundations of services in these regional communities.
This new chapter reflects our ongoing commitment to growing vibrant, connected communities where best lives are lived. We look forward to supporting individuals, families, and communities across Queensland and now into regional New South Wales, and Victoria with high-quality, person-centred aged care services well into the future.
