Our new aged care home will offer a contemporary, comfortable and home-like environment, purpose-built to meet the needs of our residents who need clinical care and support as they age and their needs change. It replaces two existing facilities which currently accommodates up to 66 residents, who will benefit greatly from the upgrade.
The new home spans two wings and comprises 81 single bedrooms each with an ensuite. Residents in each wing will have access to a dedicated internal courtyard, sitting, living and dining areas and a nurse station are situated in close proximity to common areas and resident rooms.

We thank the Australian Government, Department of Health for the support of a $14 million Aged Care Approval Round (ACAR) grant which we were awarded by on 30 June 2021 to help make this project possible.
Construction commences in mid-2023 and is planned for completion late-2024.

The first sod was turned by local Federal MP, Member for Maranoa, the Hon David Littleproud, SCCQ Board Chair Francis Price, SCCQ CEO Jason Eldering and SCCQ Regional Residential Manager for the Western Downs Lance Payne, alongwith members of the community Daphne Taylor and Rosalie Watts.
They were joined by the Member for Callide, Bryson Head; Lord Mayor Western Downs Regional Council, Paul McVeigh, and representatives from Southern Queensland Rural Health, Goondir Health Services and the Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprise.
